EVENTS PROGRAMME
Scoring
In both races the first three finishers shall score for the team. Each race shall be scored separately. The team results shall be decided by the aggregate of times recorded by the scoring athletes of each team. The team with the lowest aggregate of times will be judged the winner. If a team fails to finish with a complete scoring team, the runners finishing shall be counted as individuals in the race result and be eligible for the individual awards.
In the event of a tie, it shall be resolved in favour of the team whose last scoring member finishes nearer to first place.
PARTICIPATION
Invitation to Participate
All IAAF Member Federations shall be invited by the IAAF General Secretary to participate in the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships. The Organising Member, shall also send a letter of invitation to all Members to participate.
Age Categories
Any athlete who is at least 18 years of age on 31 December of the year of the competition may compete in the event.
Entry Regulations
Members may enter one team in each race. A maximum of seven athletes may be entered; no more than five will be allowed to start, with three to score.
Individual entries are admitted in any of the two races and the finishing athletes shall be eligible for the corresponding individual awards.
Preliminary Entries
The Preliminary Entries must now be submitted only via the Event Entry System
(http://evententry.iaaf.org). This will be possible starting 15 July 2009. The login information is the same as that required for the Final Entries. Member Federations must submit the Preliminary Entries by 11 August 2009, midnight, Monaco time.
Final Entries
As usual, the Final Entries must also be submitted via our Event Entry System
(http://evententry.iaaf.org). This will be possible starting 1 September 2009. Member Federations must submit the Final Entries by 28 September 2009, midnight, Monaco time.
